Autumn, A Time of Renewal and Magic

Hi friend!

As the leaves fall and the days grow shorter, we are entering a season of change. This time of the year my soul can feel the energy shift...

We clean the dust off of our nature dwelling spirits, and allow a touch of sparkle and glamour to creep into our lives. From playful Halloween costume parties to the glitz of upcoming galas and charity events, through the warmth of Thanksgiving gatherings, and finally, amidst the whirlwind of Christmas and New Year's festivities – it's that one time of year when I truly relish getting dolled up and embracing my vivacious, social self.

Fall color palette
Autumn colors don't have to be dark and eerie, I personally love orange with burst of jewel tones and cool blues. It keeps things warm, bright and cheerful for the season of entertaining and joyous festivities. And these colors transition seamlessly into Christmas.

In the midst of the holiday buzz and the infectious energy that seems to fill the air, I can't help but feel a surge of inspiration. Do you see your calendar getting more full with social calls and inspiration to create?

My dreams become more vivid, ideas flow freely, and I eagerly seek ways to wrap up the year on a stronger and more fulfilled note. It's a season of profound transformation.

As the anticipation for this change has grown within me, a recurring vision has taken hold. It's as if a swirling energy is guiding me, continuing to illuminate the path even as the sun sets a bit earlier each day. In this vision, I see a woman standing at the brink of her own canvas, her gaze filled with unwavering resolve, fixated on the journey ahead. Her billowy black dress ripples like ink in water, capturing every subtle glimmer of light that beckons her forward. And all around her, ravens take flight, weaving an enchanting mystery into the unknown.

Raven perched on a branch
Ravens often represent ancient wisdom, intelligence and transformation. In mythology and folklore, these ebony enigmas inhabit a realm where symbols intertwine with human imagination. Come grow your creative wings while we enjoy an evening together learning to paint this mysterious bird on Friday the 13th.

Some Native American cultures, see ravens as a protective spirits and guardians. They watch over and guide individuals...

Similarly symbolism to me is as rich as the colors on my palette.

The ravens, full of timeless wisdom, represent a symbol of hope in the midst of darkness, a beacon guiding us toward brighter horizons. They remind me that even in the darkest of times, there's a chance for renewal and transformation. Just as the seasons change, and trees shed their leaves to make way for the upcoming seasons. We are stepping into a time to reflect on what we've lost and what we've gained, to shed our own metaphorical skins, and to welcome the new with open arms.

On my easel this month, I've tried to capture the essence of these dualities - the coexistence of darkness and light, the subtle warmth of autumn, and the mystery of our spiritual guidance. Each brush stroke is a time capsule that hold a piece of magic of this season of life. This piece isn't just a painting; it's a celebration of life's cycles, where every ending holds the promise of a new beginning.

So, if you're someone who seeks inspiration in the beauty of nature, in the ebb and flow of life, and in the timeless allure of art, this painting is calling to you. Unlock the essence of renewal and make this painting a part of your world. Let it be a constant reminder that, like the woman in the painting, you too can step into the canvas of your life with grace and determination.

If this speaks to you, give me a shout, and let's make this masterpiece yours!

With a brush of creativity and a dash of renewal,

Artist Natalie Martin
